This is a hybrid log and traditional framed home which uses fir logs and timbers for a front entrance portico, porch structure, load bearing posts, and a partial front face facade. The owner was concerned about both the potential rotting at the bottom of some posts and the preservation of all the exterior wood. The home was located on a steep embankment and required a large scaffold set up so that all the wood could be sanded, preserved and stained.
