After a vehicle struck this log house, the owner had us come in to assess the conditions of the logs and to replace any that were damaged.

The impact of the vehicle exposed rotten portions of the log house as well as bringing attention to other portions rotting due to very poor eaves-trough water management.

Some logs had mushrooms growing from them while others were almost completely eaten through by bugs and rot.

We replaced six log ends and a further five portions of log lengths on various portions of the house.

The owner requested that we attempt to match the colour of the house as much as possible. Given that the original stain was a Sikkens Natural and the logs has been exposed to sun and weather, without topcoat for over 10 years, we applied Sico Cedar stain along with highlighting the logs with a bit of darker stain so to match the sometimes burnt, darkened, and aged look.

Complete refinishing of the log house was advised.
